SR 520 Eastside Transit and HOV Project 

 

In the summer of 2014, Shannon McGuire became a public information manager for one of the SR 520 Program's largest and most impactful projects. The Eastside Transit and HOV Project includes a revised 2.3-mile HOV system, corridor noisewalls, and stormwater treatment features from Evergreen Point Road in Medina to 108th Avenue Northeast in Bellevue. Throughout final construction, Shannon worked with local stakeholders and contractor Eastside Corridor Constructors to ensure that project information and timelines reached local communities. 

• Coordinated and facilitated stakeholder meetings with contractor.

• Participated in MOT planning meetings with city and state representatives and contractor. 

• Drafted and coordinated closure notifications and website updates. 

• Provided immediate response to 24-hour emergency construction hotline calls. 

• Drafted and designed project folios and construction maps using InDesign.

• Participated in daily project communications providing 24-hour response to citizen phone and email queries.  

• Participated and facilitated regular project communications update meetings with WSDOT communications representatives.
